Autism Assessments for Adults in Warwickshire

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, meaning it is life-long. Many autistic adults report life-long differences with:

  • understanding and navigating social communication and interactions, such as finding it hard to understand implicit social ‘rules’ or expectations

  • struggling to understand others’ perspectives or intentions

  • having differences in the way they communicate, such as finding eye contact difficult or having a limited range of facial expressions

  • sensory sensitivities, such as becoming overwhelmed or distressed by sounds, lighting, touch, certain smells and so on

  • having particular interests in specific sensory experiences

  • finding change difficult and distressing, preferring their own, specific interests and being quite engrossed by these

  • having a need for sameness and predictability

Every autistic person is different, so our autism assessments for adults will focus on identifying whether you have traits consistent with autism throughout your life and exploring how these have impacted you. Many autistic people talk of trying to ‘mask’, to fit in with a neurotypical world or using particular strategies to minimise their autistic traits, so we will also explore this with you.

Private Autism Assessment Cost

Our autism assessments for adults cost £1250, all inclusive.

This includes: up to 4 hours of clinical assessment using the gold standard diagnostic assessment tools (the ADI-R and/or the ACIA), a developmental history, and a clinical interview to explore mental and physical health; psychometric questionnaires and interpretation; a full report, which are an average of 14 pages long and include specific recommendations for you; and a feedback session to discuss the results, coping and next steps. There are no additional or hidden costs.

Wherever possible, we include an informant – someone who has known you since childhood ideally, such as a parent, caregiver, sibling or friend. If that is not possible, we can include someone who knows you well now. They will be asked to complete some questionnaires, we will talk to them separately to you or they can join the assessment with you.
