What types of private psychological assessments does Unlock Psychology offer?

Unlock Psychology offers private ADHD assessments (£950), autism assessments (£1,250), a combined joint ADHD and autism assessment (£2,100), and gender dysphoria assessments. All are conducted by HCPC-registered clinical psychologists using NICE-compliant methods, available in-person in Warwickshire and Birmingham, or online across the UK.

Do I need a GP referral to book a private assessment?

No GP referral is needed. You can self-refer by completing our online enquiry form. We recommend speaking with your GP around the time of booking if you may want support with follow-on medication prescribing or shared care arrangements.

How quickly can I get a private psychological assessment?

Appointments are typically available within 2–8 weeks, significantly faster than NHS waiting lists which can run to several years. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24–48 hours.

What is included in the price — are there hidden costs?

All assessment prices are all-inclusive with no additional charges for clinical time, psychometric scoring, report writing, or the feedback session. The only optional extra is a one-hour screening assessment (£150). Payment plans are available for the joint ADHD and autism assessment.

Are your assessments valid for workplace adjustments and university support?

Yes. Our reports are accepted by employers, universities, GPs, and the DVLA. A comprehensive diagnostic report from a doctoral-level clinical psychologist strengthens any Equality Act 2010 reasonable adjustments application and provides clear, personalised recommendations.
